Welcome to Technical Diving International (TDI) Nitrox Diver Course. Nitrox is fast replacing air as the default breathing medium in mainstream recreational diving. Think of Nitrox as a tool, like an additional piece of equipment, that can make your diving more enjoyable. When you take this course you will learn and understand what a valuable tool nitrox is and how it will add useful options and flexibility to your dive planning and execution. A common misunderstanding of Nitrox is that it, "Is for deeper dives." The use of Nitrox is in fact the complete opposite of this statement. To truly comprehend the concepts of nitrox, and thereby most effectively and safely benefit from its use, a diver needs to understand a few principles related to the physics and physiology of diving. Your TDI Instructor will walk you through these principles and provide you with a solid framework for understanding how and why nitrox works. For the divers that are interested in advancing their skills beyond the recreational level, this course is the first certification level in the TDI technical diving curriculum and will help prepare the diver for futher technical training. There is pre-work for this course so sign up today for our next class.
